ENJOY THE BEAUTY AND ADVENTURE OF THE KIMBERLEY
Parry Creek Farm is a small tourist resort situated on 120acres of freehold land in the middle of Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve. Parry Lagoon Nature Reserve is 36,000 hectares of pristine wilderness and is listed by Ramsar as a Wetland of International Importance.
Parry Creek Farm is approximately 20kms from Wyndham and 90kms from Kununurra. Access to Parrys is along a maintained gravel road (7kms).
We are the closest accommodation stopover from the Eastern end of the Gibb River Road. We are 1.5 hours drive from the Northern Territory border.
From the verandah of the elevated cabins, walkways and decking area you look out over the picturesque billabong and its lillies. If you are patient you may spot our resident Fresh Water Crocodiles and Barramundi.
Many species of birds nest amongst the reeds surrounding the edges are best spotted in the early morning at dusk.
The Restaurant and Cafe are open from April -September and the Licenced Bar & BBQ facilities will be available all year.
Parry Creek Farm offers you a rare opportunity to experience the wet season in the Kimberleys.
About the Wet:
Wet season runs from October to March, and during this time the temperature hovers around the mid 30s with the occasional 40degree day thrown in. We also experience the renowned humidity of this area, however its not as bad as people think and a good excuse to spend time in the swimming pool!
Torrential downpours do occur in the Dec-March time frame though puddles and run-off water is soon absorbed into the earth. Parry Creek Farm does have a Shire road closure if the rains are to heavy and is sign posted at the turnoff.
However we do recommend 4WD in the Dec-March time frame.
Parrys prides itself on being a family friendly resort with many activities available for both parents and kiddies.
