Cumberland River Holiday Park is situated right on the Great Ocean Road at Cumberland River, 7kms South West of Lorne. The Park is nestled in a lush green valley between cliffs and rolling mountains, bordered by the Cumberland River, where it flows through rock pools and sandy sections into the Southern Ocean.
We are in the bush and do not have the electricity supply we all take for granted. We generate our own elecricity with a diesel generator, charging a bank of 24 batteries which in turn convert their energy to around 240 volts through a series of inverters. You may notice some fluctuation with our power supply. It is for the safety of your appliances that there are no power points in your cabins.
We have over 95 well-grassed and flat unpowered camping and van sites. Our showers require 20c for 5 minutes of hot water. One car per site and a maximum of 4 people per site or a family of 6 are permitted.
Our facilities include two amenity blocks, laundry with washing machine and dryer, pay phone, a well-stocked kiosk for milk, bread, papers, drinks, ice creams, ice, fire wood and LPG gas bottle refilling as well as a playground and undercover gas BBQs. Fires are permitted in drums provided all year round except Total Fire Ban days or at managers discretion.
Our water supply is from the river. We use another diesel motor to pump our water to 2 large storage tanks, high in the hills, which gravity feed to the park.
Absolute serenity and magnificent scenery awaits you at this glorious part of the Great Ocean Road, so stay with us soon!
