Traralgon's Green Acres Village puts lifestyle first with country home answers for over 55's Ruth and Allan Hillier with grand daughter Holly |
Green Acres Relocatable Home Village Traralgon is a thoughtful approach to comfortable, affordable lifestyle for over 55's.
It is aimed squarely at providing practical answers to a proven prime directive for living for older Australians - don't leave it too late to live!
Ruth and Allan Hillier know how they want to live. They want a secure life in the country and they love Traralgon. "It is pretty, well laid out and the shops and people are friendly", Allan says.
Ruth says she feels Traralgon is home ground for the family.
Now she and Allan have their own home at Green Acres Village their grandchildren Holly, 7, Stephen, 12 and Ben, 9, are regular visitors.
Green Acres owner benefits extend to full use of the extensive child friendly facilities of the adjacent Park Lane Top Tourist Park.

Kids keep themselves happy when there are things to do |
That includes a massive kid magnet, the Jumping Pillow. There is also a swimming pool, indoor heated spa, pedal Go-carts, playground, and basketball court and games room.
So GoSee met seven-year-old Holly, but Stephen and Ben were too busy enjoying themselves in the secure neighboring play area.
Pets are welcome at Green Acres too and Park Lane Top Tourist Park has a friendly pet policy.
Green Acres is about village, social inter-reaction. That means people talk to each other and that will be helped along by a gym, library and community room with planned social events such as barbecues.
The people first practical approach at Green Acres means there are no bills for services like power and water. That is all inclusive.

Green Acres offers interchangeable colour and design options |
The price of a Green Acres home varies with the additions which individuals request but generally a two bedroom Green Acres Village residence will cost between $150,000 and $168,000.
Green Acres residents own their own homes in a safe secure environment with security gate entry and also on-site management.
There is variety in colour and design throughout the Green Acres village and all facilities and landscaped gardens are fully maintained.
V/line services run to Melbourne on the hour throughout the week and there are limited rail services at weekends.
Allan Hillier says he and Ruth ride the rails to Melbourne which is an hour and half away. "As pensioners it only costs us $14 return", he said.
Not that the big city lights are essential to cultural survival. Ruth says she and Allan attend a lot of live shows and ballet at the local performing arts centre.
Green Gippsland has much close to Green Acres that is unique by any standards.
A big, modern hospital is about 500m left of the sliding security gate.
Golf is a good way to improve a healthy walk.
There is a popular local Australian Italian Club.
Ocean beaches are an hour away, Gippsland's fresh and saltwater fishing is close and world class.

Park Lane indoor heated spa is linked to Green Acres |
The wonders of the High Country are an hour and half on good roads and bowls, craft clubs, croquet, footy clubs, the RSL and hands-on attractions like Powerworks are handy home-grown lifestyle options.
Then there are real country benefits. There is space for visitors and enough room to store caravans, trailers and boats.
Sailing is also a local fun thing to do and Hazelwood Pondage is venue to the quirky Sauna Sail which spreads its wings in winter on the warmer waters of the power station pondage.
Green Acres Village takes care of the property too so residents heading off to do good stuff know that things left behind are watched within the village environment by people who know what belongs. It is people taking care that works to put living into lifestyle.
