Hugo Percy launches GoSee New Zealand in March 2007 |
Hugo Percy from New Zealand Motorhome and Caravan Expo organiser Classic Events clicked the GoSeeNewZealand website into action in Hamilton on Saturday March 3, 2007.
GoSee New Zealand is a free to users caravanning and camping website. It provides Trip planning and easy access to touring information about all New Zealands Holiday Parks, destinations and attractions.
The 2007 North Island Expo, in Hamilton, built sales momentum and the South Island NZ National Motorhome and Caravan Expo has reaped strong support.
Organisers say the expo has the capacity to double in size in a year.
Once again a motorhome and caravan rally is linked to the expo with club members camping on the expo grounds during the weekend of the show.
This is a successful formula which includes an exhibitor and Rally Members social on the Saturday night. Already more than 600 are expected for the function.
The NZMCA national body has endorsed the 2008 Expo. Site bookings can be made through co-ordinator Bruce Stranger bsandhm@clear.net.nz

Big rig means big bed |
Those members who are associated to clubs but are not members of the NZMCA or CCNZ are welcome.
There is a site booking application form available on the website www.nzmotorhomeandcaravanexpo.co.nz (click South Island).
It is under the heading Rally Information. Bookings are on a first in basis.
Members should note that they cannot display their vehicles for sale at the Expo.
New Zealand design and finish quality is notable in many motorhomes and campervans.
Caravans built with New Zealand conditions in mind show plenty of original thought.
The Leisure Line range of caravans are designed and built by New Zealanders for New Zealand conditions with value and quality Leisure Lines point of difference for potential owners.
Leisure Line builds a traditional Kiwi caravan with current styling. The result is a comfortable, open Recreational Vehicle which has space and style. Leisure Line understand New Zealand conditions and their products can take it comfortably in every sense.
Layouts, installation, materials and finish are chosen to give the maximum durability.
Leisure Line has been involved in the manufacturing of caravans since 1973. This hands-on experience takes the best features of previous New Zealand built caravans and improves on them. Leisure Lines one piece roof is just one example of how the past benefits the future.
Leisure Line custom builds to individual needs.
International designs are well represented with Australia's biggest builder of Recreational Vehicles Jayco showing the latest designs in its caravan range plus its well priced motorhomes.
There is plenty of original thought at the 2008 South island New Zealand National Motorhome and Caravan Expo.
For example - The Oztent was born from frustration when Joe Vigilone (Oztent inventor) went camping with his wife and a borrowed tent. It was not a happy experience. So when Joe got back from the holiday which was cut short through the problems with setting up the tent he decided to design his own.
Oztent was released in 1993 and in that same year the Oztent was awarded A Silver medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions - Geneva.
The Most Innovative Camping Product - Caravan and Camping Association.
From kitchen table to International Award Winning tent - The Oztent has been and continues to be another great little Aussie Invention that is now available in the U.K., Switzerland, Netherlands, Germany, France, Denmark, New Zealand and South Africa.
Apart from the fact that the Oztent is so easy to set up (in less than 30 seconds and by one person) Joe added many new features to make this tent a real pleasure to camp in.
Joe recognised that when he designed the Oztent it was for touring camping and times when quick and tent erecting is required. But GoSee uses an Oztent and we find more and more people buy it for the fact that it is just so simple to use.

Canterbury is a proud city right now. Sophie Pascoe, 15, a student at Canterbury's Lincoln High School, is New Zealand's youngest ever Paralympic athlete.

Luxury approach to life on the road |
Sophie aimed for gold medal at the Beijing Games but beat the world and won both the 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley. She also took silver in the 100m butterfly.
Canterbury (Waitaha) New Zealand's biggest region incorporates Christchurch, Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs, Timaru, Lake Tekapo, Methven and Darfield.
The region is bounded in the north by the Conway River and to the west by the Southern Alps. The southern boundary is the Waitaki River.
Christchurch (Otautahi). Is the biggest city in the South Island, it is also the second largest New Zealand city after Auckland in the North Island.
Tourism is significant in the local economy. Ski-fields and other attractions of the Southern Alps are close and hotels, a casino, and an airport meet international standards.
